July Collection - Roanoke Nursing Home Sunday, 7/27 Today is the wedding of Laura Bradle & Mitch Wettstein. Everyone is welcome to stay for the wedding service at 12 noon. Singing will be from 11:30 - 12:00. Due to the large crowd, we would appreciate letting our guests go to the dining room first and there is also food available downstairs. This event will also mark five decades of compassionate service to the community. The evening will culminate in a lantern release ceremony, where loved ones will have the opportunity to purchase a paper lantern in honor of a current resident or in memory of a past resident. At dusk, the lanterns will be lit and released by loved ones. Lanterns for the memorial ceremony may be reserved in advance for a suggested donation of $20. There will also be a limited number available for purchase the evening of. For more information or to reserve a lantern in honor of your loved one, please contact Jamie Hodel at (309) 369-5781 by August 1st. June Collection - Operational Fund- On the national level, this fund pays for elder forums, elder teaching resources, Onward Media (which includes AC Central), etc. On the local level, this fund pays for Roanoke minister travel, Ladies’ and Men’s events, All Church Christmas caroling and other events that involve the entire church, Silver Lining subscriptions, assistance as needed for the Young Group, Counseling material, etc. Sunday, 6/22 Men of Integrity - 8:30 am - We will provide men with the tools and encouragement to become men of integrity. All men, 16 and older, that struggle with or mentor those who struggle with lust and pornography are welcome (16-18 need a father to be present). We plan to meet the 2nd and 4th Sunday of every month at 8:30 am in the Bible classroom beginning on Sunday June 22nd. The contact people are Brian Schwind, Dan Moser and Mark Hinrichson. Parents of children ages 3 through kindergarten should be downstairs to pick up their child by that time. VBS for the high-school students and adults: Singing begins each night at 6:45.
