May’s Collection - ACCFS

 

Sunday 5/29 - Nominating Committee - Short presentation after church.  To better identify where people desire to serve in our church, an online survey has been developed.  Please go online to complete the survey: https://www.roanokeacchurch.org/ministries-and-talents-survey  This survey will also be used by the Nominating Committee for the upcoming Sunday School election.

 

Monday 5/30 - The Junior and Senior Bible Class Mission Trip -  A group of 43 students and parents will be serving at the Sunset Gap Community Center in Cosby, Tennessee from 5/30 -6/4.  They will be completing a number of building, food distribution, and service projects.  Please pray for safe travels, and that God will be glorified and the truth of the Gospel will be spread through these activities.

 

Wednesday 6/1 - Hymn Sing from 7:00 - 7:30 prior to service 

 

Sunday 6/5 -Prayer Gathering at 9:00 in the Intermediate Sunday School Room 

 

Small Group Gather Update - Thanks for all the willing participation in Small group gatherings. Hosts for the June/July groups will be receiving an email with their group this week.  Fall hosts will receive their group information at a later date. If questions arise please contact Sis. Penny Maher

 

VBS - We are looking forward to VBS which will be held June 6-10th.  Singing for students 3 years old through 8th grade will begin at 6:45. Students will be released around 8:05. We still have a need for helpers. Please sign-up on the link below. There is also a sign-up for snacks to be served to students downstairs attached below. Thanks for your commitment to serve our students!

National Church Events

  • Saturday 6/18 - The 6th annual HarvestCall Haiti Dairy Farm Benefit Dinner - It will be held in Bluffton at Neu-Hope dairy farm, with registration beginning at 11am ET and meal at 12 noon. A program will follow where attendees can be inspired with stories, challenges and opportunities that are happening at Good Vision Farm in south Haiti. Families are welcome to attend and registration is required at: https://www.harvestcall.org/awareness-events A poster about this event is located in the north hall bulletin board with more details.
  • Saturday 7/9 - Proclaim and Serve Conference at Goodfield  - Proclaim & Serve missions conference (proclaimandserve.org)  (Roanoke will be hosting this conference in 2023)
  • Friday 8/5 - Brotherhood Conference in Bluffton
  • Saturday 8/6 - Gateway Woods Annual Auction

 

Thanks - Dear Church Family, I was very touched to be able to speak with our young high schoolers at WOW on May 16th.  I cannot explain the joy and happiness it is to see such a wonderful group of kids.  They are very attentive and have the love of Christ in their hearts.  Again, It was a wonderful blessing.  Thank you for sharing your children with me and my husband, Ray.  In Christ, Wendy Blunier 

 

 

Other Ways to Learn and Serve

  • LSM Gospel Hymn Sing - On Saturday, June 4, from 6:30-8:00PM, Bro. Matt Drayer (of Psalm 100 Quartet) and his wife Sis. Tiffany and their 9 children will be singing at the Goodfield Fellowship Hall.  Bro. Ed Schwartz (Bluffton Country) will also be sharing a presentation about the work of Loving Shepherd Ministries.  Refreshments will be provided and an offering will be taken to help vulnerable children around the world. 
  • Silver Lining - The next Silver Lining reader-submitted article is set for September 2022. The topic is: “In a world that can seem so overwhelming, how can we maintain a home (or personal sphere of influence) that is a peaceful refuge (John 17:15-17). Please submit your contribution (length = 600 words or less) on this topic to features@acsilverlining.org by July 15, 2022. The body content of your post goes here.
