May’s Collection - ACCFS

 

Sunday 5/15

  • 1st Service will be at the Fellowship Hall - There will be no lunch or 2nd service due to the remodeling project.
  • Sunday School will be in the church basement as usual
  • Please use extreme caution when driving in the west parking lot due to the number of people and children who will be walking between the fellowship hall and church. 
  • Parking Service will be provided while we are meeting at the fellowship hall. The young group will be helping with this.
  • K-2 students - can be picked up “promptly” after morning service at the northwest church doors?
  • Bible Class Mission Trip Meeting Immediately after Services - all parents and students going on the mission trip should meet in the Bible Class room. 
  • Prayers of our church family are appreciated for the 43 students and parents who will be serving at the Sunset Gap Community Center from May 30th through June 4th.  They will be completing a number of building, food distribution, and service projects.  Please pray for safe travels, and that God will be glorified and the truth of the Gospel will be spread through these activities.

  • Invitation from the Eureka Church - we welcome the Roanoke church to come and worship with us in Eureka during your remodel project. We would love to have you and would count it a blessing if you came.

 

 

Wednesday 5/18

  • ACTIVE - will be meeting at Schick’ (1591 County Road 1150 N,Eureka, IL 61530)
  • HOPE - Will be held at Bro. Brett and Sis. Laura Hodel’s home at 6:30.

 

Sunday 5/22 - Baccalaureate Service - This is a date change to match R-B’s Graduation

 

Remodeling Update - A huge thank you to everyone who has helped thus far in the remodeling project. The progress made this week is more than we could have imagined! Whether you brought food, helped serve lunch, sorted books, moved benches, tore out carpet, loaded dumpsters, or cleaned up debris it was all greatly appreciated. We need men volunteers on Monday, Tuesday, and possibly Wednesday of this coming week. To God be the glory!! The Building Committee

 

Summer Junior Volunteer Program at The Apostolic Christian Home - Any student (6th grade or older) will need to complete the attached form below by May 25th. For more information, contact Heather Simmons at the Home (309) 923-2071 ext. 114

 

Saturday 6/18 - The 6th annual HarvestCall Haiti Dairy Farm Benefit Dinner - It will be held in Bluffton at Neu-Hope dairy farm, with registration beginning at 11am ET and meal at 12 noon. A program will follow where attendees can be inspired with stories, challenges and opportunities that are happening at Good Vision Farm in south Haiti. Families are welcome to attend and registration is required at: https://www.harvestcall.org/awareness-events A poster about this event is located in the north hall bulletin board with more details.

 

Saturday 7/9 - Proclaim and Serve Conference at Goodfield  - Proclaim & Serve missions conference (proclaimandserve.org)  (Roanoke will be hosting this conference in 2023)

 

Other Ways to Learn and Serve

  • Upcoming American Red Cross Blood Drive. Tuesday May 17th from 12:30 to 5:30 at the Roanoke Park Building. This Drive is being co-hosted by Heart of Illinois Blue Star Moms and the R-B High School as a Phillip Pannier Memorial Drive. Not only can you help save a life, you can also help a RB student win a scholarship! You can register by going to redcrossblood.org, calling 1-800-RED CROSS or by contacting Julie Blunier at 309-712-7491. *every donor will enjoy a free sandwich from Mission BBQ and masking requirements have been dropped*
