November’s Collection - Gateway Woods


Sunday, 11/12

  • Due to the Young Group invite and the larger number of people we plan to feed at lunch today, Sunday School students 3rd grade through Bible Class will be eating downstairs. Students will be served from a buffet line in the basement kitchen. 3-year-olds through 2nd grade will be released to eat upstairs as normal.

  • Young Group Invite at Roanoke - The group will be singing a few songs after the second service.

New Convert - We rejoice with Jacob Knepp (Bro. Jeremy & Sis. Melinda) as he has surrendered his life to the Lord in repentance.


Wednesday, 11/15

  • In this season of counting our blessings and giving thanks, the Scripture Memory teachers and students would like to invite the church to join us in the dining room this Wednesday evening immediately following services for a snack buffet served as a token of our thankfulness for our church family. All are welcome to join us for a time of fellowship!
  • Scripture Memory will meet at 7:15 in the Dining Room.
  • HOPE will meet from 7:15-8:30 in the high school Sunday School room. We will be packing boxes for Operation Christmas Child, so the girls should bring their items, a shoebox, and scissors.
  • ACTIVE will meet in the Bible class room at 7:30.
  • WOW will meet at the Fellowship Hall at 6:30 for their Thanksgiving Feast.


Saturday 11/18- The Roanoke young group and the church have been invited by the Morton Church to participate in a Turkey Dinner Distribution day at a Mission located in Humboldt Park (in the Chicago area).  A few from our congregation have participated in this event in the past and they wanted to expand the opportunity to include the entire congregation.  Seating on the bus is limited and will be filled on a first come first serve basis.  For more information or to sign up please contact Jonathan or Megan Hodel by 11/15.


Annual Church Caroling will be Sunday, December 3rd  - We will meet at the fellowship hall at 4:00.  To RSVP attendance, please sign up on the bulletin board in the middle of the back hall and indicate if you are both singing and eating or just joining us for the meal. Thursday December 7th, Helping Hands will be meeting from 9am-3pm. Lunch will be provided by the committee. For planning purposes, we would like people to contact Rita Schwind if they are planning on coming. We would love to see as many people as possible as we will be working on items for the Roanoke food pantry and the Rescue Ministries.

  • Sunday, 11/19 Memorandum Second Service - Bro. Jeff Wiegand will be with us for reading of the Memorandum.
  • Thursday, 11/23 - Thanksgiving Service - no Wednesday night service on the 22nd.
  • Sunday, 11/26   Service at the Peoria Rescue Mission -  Will depart from the west parking lot at 7:15.  Please contact Tim or Linda Martin if you have questions.
  • Sunday, 12/3 - All Church Christmas Caroling 
  • Wednesday, 12/6 - Business Meeting
  • Sunday, 12/10 - Sunday School Christmas Program
  • Wednesdays 12/13 and 12/20 - Prairie Chorister/Youth Choir Christmas Programs


National Church

  • Volunteers are needed for Disaster Rebuilding in USA from Jan. 7 - March 22. Online registration is required for all team members and opens at noon Central time on Wednesday, November 15th at www.harvestcall.org.
  •  ABIDE: 3 Week Discipleship Training - will be May 11-31, 2024 in Peachtree City, GA. Other Ways to Learn and Serve

  • MEALS ON WHEELS program has a need for drivers. They need drivers for Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and people willing to fill in as needed. You can drive weekly or only 1-2 days a month. For more information please contact Kathy Bowald at 309-224-8961.
